O Allah, grant my child wisdom, and protect him/her with Your love, and the love of Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the love of his helpers and his family, and establish him/her upon that.
Allahumma 'allim waladiyal hikmata, wa qinihi hubbaka, wa hubba nabiyyika Muhammadin sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, wa hubba ansarihi wa ahli baytihi, wa aqimhu 'ala dhalik.
When to Read
This beautiful dua can be recited by parents for their children at any time, but it's particularly fitting after Salah, during the last third of the night, or whenever you make personal supplications for your children's well-being and spiritual growth. Make it a regular part of your routine for their upbringing.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, visualizing your child growing up to love and respect the Sahabah and the Prophet's ﷺ family. Raise your hands in supplication as you would for any other dua. You can also gently whisper it near your child's ear while they are sleeping. The intention is key: a heartfelt plea to Allah for your child's righteous development.
Virtues & Benefits
Instilling love for the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) and the Prophet's ﷺ family is crucial for a child's understanding of Islamic history and values. They were the best generation, learning directly from the source and carrying the message forward. Loving them means loving the path they walked. This dua helps nurture a child's character, grounding them in the examples of those who excelled in their faith and service to Allah.
