When to Read

This is the foundational dua made by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) for righteous children. We can make this dua regularly for our own children, especially after prayers, or at any time we feel the need to ask Allah for their righteousness and taqwa. It's particularly poignant during times of upbringing and guidance, reminding us that the ultimate success of our children lies in their connection with Allah.

How to Read

Recite this verse with sincere intention and conviction, visualizing your children growing into individuals who are conscious of Allah in all aspects of their lives. Make it a habit, perhaps incorporating it into your daily supplications. Focus on the meaning and the plea for righteousness, asking Allah to bestow this quality upon your children. It's best recited with hands raised in supplication, a practice of the Prophets (peace be upon them).

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is directly from the Quran, taught to us by Allah Himself through the example of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Reciting it acknowledges that the guidance and righteousness of children are solely from Allah. It's a powerful supplication that seeks Allah's blessing for their moral and spiritual development, leading them towards taqwa โ€“ the fear and consciousness of Allah, which is the ultimate goal for any believer. Righteous children are a source of continuous reward for their parents even after their passing.
