In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from theFading away of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with. I seek refuge in You from the distress of hardship, the attainment of misery, the evil of fate, and the rejoicing of enemies. I seek refuge in You from worry and sorrow, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from the burden of debt and the overpowering of men.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates seeking refuge from both worldly and spiritual afflictions. By reciting it for your children, you are asking Allah to shield them from: * **Negative Character Traits:** 'helplessness and laziness,' 'cowardice and stinginess' can manifest as bad habits if not guarded against. * **Mental and Emotional Distress:** 'worry and sorrow' are often precursors to unhealthy coping mechanisms. * **External Harm:** 'evil of fate, and the rejoicing of enemies' can be interpreted to include negative peer pressure, bad company, and harmful ideologies that seek to mislead. * **Spiritual Decline:** Seeking refuge from 'fading away of Your blessings, the change of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that You are displeased with' is a plea for Allah to keep them on the straight path and away from His anger. Teaching children to make such duas instills reliance on Allah from a young age.
