โœฆ

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the demolition of Your blessings, the alteration of Your protection, the suddenness of Your vengeance, and all that You dislike. I seek refuge in You from the trial of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Fire, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of wealth, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Dajjal. O Allah, cleanse my heart with the water of snow and hail, and purify my heart from sins as You have purified the white garment from dirt, and set me far apart from my sins as You have set apart the East and the West.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik. Wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatin-nar, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-ghina, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-faqr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatid-dajjal.

When to Read

This comprehensive supplication can be recited for your children at any time, but it is particularly beneficial to make it a part of your routine after the obligatory prayers (Salat). You can also recite it when you notice signs of jealousy or envy in your child, or when seeking Allah's protection for them from all forms of spiritual and worldly trials. It's a powerful dua to foster a pure heart and a righteous character.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and heartfelt conviction. Visualize your children's hearts being purified and protected from negative traits. You can place your hand on your child's head or shoulder while making this dua for them, or recite it together with them if they are old enough to understand and participate. Ensure you pronounce the Arabic clearly, seeking the meaning behind each word.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is incredibly comprehensive, asking Allah for protection against the loss of blessings, the change of well-being, sudden punishment, and His displeasure. It also seeks refuge from major trials like the grave, the Fire, the trial of wealth and poverty, and the Dajjal. By extension, seeking refuge from all these negative influences inherently helps in cultivating a heart free from jealousy and envy, as these often stem from discontentment and comparison, which this dua directly addresses by seeking Allah's contentment and protection from trials. A heart protected from such trials is more likely to be content, grateful, and free from malice towards others.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to say: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa fuja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhatik. Wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-qabr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatin-nar, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-ghina, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-faqr, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatid-dajjal. Allahumma ghsil qalbi bimath-thalji wal-barad, wa naqqi qalbi minal-khataaya kama naqqayta-thawbal-abyada minad-danas, wa ba'id bayni wa bayna khataaya kama ba'adta baynal-mashriqi wal-maghrib."
