(Sahih Muslim 2708). This indicates the immense blessing and protection that comes from reciting this supplication regularly for ourselves and our children.

Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said, 'O Messenger of Allah! What has gotten me through tonight?' He said: 'A scorpion stung him.' He said: 'Shall I not teach you some words to say when you go to bed, or when you wake up? If you say them, it will not harm you.' The people asked: 'O Messenger of Allah! What are they?' He said: 'Seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.' (A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq).
