Dua for Inner Peace Amidst the Trials of Infertility

Anxiety & Distress
Sahih HadithMusnad Ahmad 1/391

O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever-effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept with You in the knowledge of the unseen, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sorrow, and the reliever of my anxiety.

Allahumma inni 'abduk, ibnu 'abdik, ibnu amatika, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fi kitabik, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated that Ibn Mas'ud said: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: 'No person suffers any anxiety or grief, and then says: O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever-effective. Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every name You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept with You in the knowledge of the unseen, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, and the banisher of my sorrow, and the reliever of my anxiety, but Allah will take away his anxiety and grief, and replace them for him with delight.' He was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, should we learn these words?' He said: 'Yes, of course. It is essential for everyone who hears them to learn them.'
