I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan. O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Magnificent Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, the Cleaver of the grain and the date-stone, the Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Criterion. I seek refuge in You from the evil of all things, the forelock of which You are seizing. O Allah, You are the First, so there is nothing before You; You are the Last, so there is nothing after You; You are the Apparent, so there is nothing above You; You are the Hidden, so there is nothing nearer than You. Discharge our debts from us and enrich us from poverty.

Sufyan (one of the narrators) said: I said to Abu Hisham about this hadith: 'What does 'Aqdi 'anna daynana' mean?' He said: 'That is, discharge our debts.' And he said: 'And 'Aghnina minal-faqr' is 'enrich us from poverty'. He said: Abu Hisham narrated to us from Abu Hisham, from Abu Hisham, from Abu Hisham (i.e. he repeated the name of Abu Hisham four times in the chain of narration). And the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'He who says: "Glory be to Allah, the Great, and praise be to Him." (Subhan-Allahil-'azeemi wa bihamdih), a date-palm tree is planted for him in Paradise.' (Sahih Muslim 2707). This present hadith (2708) is a longer supplication narrated by the same companion, Abu Hisham. The context is when the Prophet (ﷺ) would supplicate like this, especially when facing difficulties or seeking comprehensive refuge.
