Dua for Protection from the Anger of a Powerful Authority

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ، وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ

O Allah, indeed We place You directly in their line of fire [or in front of them to ward them off], and we seek refuge in You from their evils.

Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim, wa na'udhu bika min shururihim

It was narrated from Abu Musa that when the Prophet ﷺ feared a certain people, he would supplicate: 'Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim, wa na'udhu bika min shururihim.' (O Allah, indeed We place You directly in their line of fire, and we seek refuge in You from their evils.)
