โœฆ

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This dua is typically recited after Fajr prayer, as it's a moment when one might seek blessings for the day ahead. While not exclusively for dreams, seeking beneficial knowledge is directly linked to gaining clarity and understanding, which can manifest in our waking thoughts and even our dreams, guiding us towards the right path. It's a comprehensive request for divine assistance in understanding matters, which can extend to interpreting unclear situations or seeking guidance through visions or dreams.

How to Read

Recite this dua sincerely after the Fardh of Fajr prayer. Raise your hands slightly, as you would when making dua, and focus your heart on seeking Allah's help. It's recommended to do this while facing the Qiblah, if possible, and with a state of mindfulness and hope in Allah's response.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encompasses three essential elements for a successful life: beneficial knowledge ('ilman naafi'an) that guides one's actions, goodly provision (rizqan tayyiban) that sustains and purifies, and acceptable deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan) that are worthy of Allah's pleasure. By seeking these, we ask Allah to illuminate our understanding, which can lead to clearer insights and potentially divine guidance in dreams. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ would often supplicate for these very things, recognizing their immense importance.

Source & Authentication

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ used to say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.' (When he woke up in the morning.)
