Narrated Hudhaifa: Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) got up for the night (to pray), he used to say: 'Allah Akbar! Glory be to Allah! The owner of all these affairs. Glory be to Allah! The owner of the kingdoms of the heavens and the earth. Glory be to Allah! The Owner of the heavens and the earth. Glory be to Allah! The Owner of all that is between them. Glory be to Allah! The Owner of the Throne. Praise be to Allah, Who brought us back to life after giving us death, and to Him is the resurrection.' Then he would say: 'O Allah! For You is the praise. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth. And for You is the praise. You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth. And for You is the praise. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth. You are the Truth, and Your promise is true, and Your meeting is true, and Your Paradise is true, and the Fire is true, and the Prophets are true, and Muhammad (ﷺ) is true, and the Hour is true. O Allah! I surrender myself to You, and I set out for my task, and I raise my desire to You, and I prefer meeting You. So, grant me the chance to meet You with an easy accounting.' He would then say: 'O Allah! Forgive me my former and later sins, the secret and the open ones. Verily, You are the One Who Exalts, and the One Who debases. And You are the One Who is Capable of doing everything.'
