O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, and from the torment of Hellfire. I seek refuge in You from the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal), and I seek refuge in You from the trial of life and the trial of death.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, wa 'adhab jahannam, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-masih ad-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-mahya wal-mawat.

How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere conviction, understanding the profound meaning of seeking Allah's protection. Raise your hands in supplication as you would for any other prayer, or place your right hand on your right side as taught for seeking refuge. It is recommended to say it after the obligatory prayers, and especially before sleeping, as it is a protection for both states.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a powerful shield against immense tribulations. Seeking refuge from the torment of the grave (عذاب القبر - 'adhab al-qabr) is a crucial protection for the period between death and resurrection. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to seek refuge from it, as it is a reality that will befall everyone. By reciting this, we are actively asking Allah for His mercy and safeguard against this intense trial. This also includes refuge from the torment of Jahannam (Hellfire), the ultimate consequence for disbelief and disobedience, and the trials of the Dajjal, the greatest trial of this ummah, as well as the tests we face in this life and the next.
Source & Authentication
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to teach his companions to seek refuge in Allah from four things, saying: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, wa 'adhab jahannam, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-masih ad-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnat al-mahya wal-mawat. (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, and from the torment of Hellfire. I seek refuge in You from the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal), and I seek refuge in You from the trial of life and the trial of death.)
