Quranic Duas
Sahih HadithMusnad Ahmad 3530

O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My front hair is in Your hand. Your command over me is effective. Your judgment over me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed to anyone from Your creation, or sent down in Your Book, or preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the springtime of my heart, and the light of my chest, and a remover of my sorrow, and a banisher of my anxiety.

Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

Source & Authentication

Ahmad narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'No servant is afflicted with distress or grief, and then says: Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi. – except that Allah will take away his distress and grief, and replace it with that which is (instead) joy.' So it was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, should we not learn it?' He said: 'Yes, whoever hears it should learn it.' (This hadith is graded Sahih by Al-Albani, see Al-Silsilah Al-Sahihah, 199).
