Virtues & Benefits
This ayah encapsulates a profound request that touches upon personal devotion and familial legacy. By asking to be an 'establisher of prayer' (muqimas-salah), we are asking Allah to grant us the ability to perform our prayers perfectly, with all their obligations and recommended acts, and to do so consistently. The inclusion of 'and my offspring' (wa min dhurriyyati) highlights the immense importance Islam places on family and the continuity of good deeds. Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), the beloved friend of Allah, understood that the success in this life and the next is deeply tied to righteous progeny who uphold their faith. This dua is a testament to the prophetic supplication for the establishment of prayer across generations, a continuous stream of worship flowing from one generation to the next. Reciting it is an act of seeking Allah's pleasure and His guidance for yourself and your loved ones to remain steadfast in the most crucial pillar of Islam after the testimony of faith.
