This powerful dua is recited by the Prophet Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) in the Quran when his people rejected his message and persisted in their wrongdoing, particularly in their fraudulent dealings. We can turn to this dua whenever we find ourselves in a situation of conflict, injustice, or disagreement with others, especially when we have done our best to convey truth and they have refused to accept it. It is an appeal to Allah (Exalted is He) to intervene and establish justice, recognizing that He is the ultimate judge and the best arbiter.

How to Read

Recite this verse with a sincere heart, acknowledging Allah's (Exalted is He) power and wisdom as the ultimate judge. Understand that 'fatiheen' (those who decide/open) implies judgment, victory, and setting things right. When you utter this dua, do so with the full conviction that Allah (Exalted is He) will indeed open the matter between you and the opposing party in the way that is most just and beneficial. Itโ€™s a plea for divine intervention when human efforts have reached their limit and truth needs to be vindicated.
