This is the most profound and frequently recited dua, forming the core of Surah Al-Fatihah, which is obligatory in every prayer (Salat). The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned the immense importance of Surah Al-Fatihah, stating that Allah SWT said it is divided between Him and His servant, and that the servant shall have what they ask for. (Sahih Muslim 397) This implies that constantly asking for guidance through this ayah is one of the surest ways to receive Allah's blessings and stay on the path that leads to success in this life and the hereafter.
