O Allah, forgive my sin, soften the hardness of my heart, and place between me and You the veil of Your provision. Do not invalidate my fast by invoking curses against me, do not set an enemy over me, and do not distance me from You by my poverty and neediness.

Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) never failed to recite the following supplication in the morning and in the evening: 'O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion and worldly affairs, for my family and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my private parts and allay my anxieties. O Allah, protect me from before me and from behind me, and from my right and from my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in Your might from being taken by surprise from beneath me.' [Ibn Majah 3870, Sahih].
