O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, and I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and subjugated by men.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, helplessness and laziness, cowardice and stinginess, and the overwhelming of debt and subjugation by men." He added, "I leave my place, and I have no desire to come back to you until you grant me refuge." So, I asked him, "O Allah's Messenger, what does 'the overwhelming of debt and subjugation by men' mean?" He said, "Yes, if a man becomes indebted, he speaks, and lies and, if he promises, he breaks his promises."
