Our Lord, do not cause our hearts to deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba'da idh hadaytana wa hab lana min ladunka rahmah, innaka antal-Wahhab.

When to Read

This powerful dua, taught to us directly by Allah in Surah Al 'Imran, is essential for us to recite regularly. We should make it a habit to say it after every prayer, or at any time we feel a need for Allah's steadfastness. It's particularly important when facing trials, uncertainties, or when we observe others falling into misguidance. It's a constant reminder of our reliance on Allah for guidance.

How to Read

Recite this ayah with sincere intention and a humble heart. Raise your hands if you are reciting it individually outside of prayer, following the Sunnah of making dua. Focus on the meaning and the immense need for Allah's mercy to keep our hearts firm on His path. It's about acknowledging our own weakness and Allah's absolute power to guide and sustain.

Virtues & Benefits

This ayah is Allah's direct teaching on how to pray for guidance and steadfastness. By reciting it, we are asking Allah to protect us from deviating from the Straight Path, which includes protection from major sins like Shirk (associating partners with Allah) and all forms of misguidance. It also asks for Allah's special mercy, which is the source of all blessings and protection. Reciting it is a direct plea to the 'Wahhab' - the Granter, the Bestower, acknowledging that guidance and mercy are solely from Him.
