Source & Authentication

Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Make things easy and do not make them difficult, and give the good news to people and do not alienate them.' In another narration, when the Prophet (ﷺ) intended to go for a journey, he would say: 'O Allah, facilitate my journey and bring my affairs close.' And when he returned, he would say: 'O Allah, I return (bringing) goodness and seeking goodness, returning reformed and seeking reform, protecting myself from evil and obeying the good.' The specific phrase 'Rabbi yassir wa la tu'assir' is attributed to the Prophet's (ﷺ) general supplication for ease, particularly when facing tasks or journeys, as seen in other narrations concerning his travels, and in the context of teaching ease to his companions. The full version used in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad adds a beautiful dimension of seeking good and relying solely on Allah's help.
