Our Lord, and make us [for You] Muslims, and [our descendants] a Muslim ummah from our descendants. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.
*Rabbana waj'alna muslimayni laka wa min dhurriyyatina ummatan muslimatan laka wa arina manasikana wa tub 'alayna innaka antat-Tawwabur-Raheem*

Virtues & Benefits
This dua encompasses two essential aspects of a believer's life: personal submission (Islam) and the continuation of righteous faith within one's lineage. By asking to be Muslims, we acknowledge Allah as our Lord and Master. By asking for a Muslim ummah from our descendants, we seek the immense blessing of having our children and grandchildren remain steadfast on the path of Islam, a reward that continues even after we are gone. It also includes seeking Allah's guidance in understanding and performing religious rites correctly and asking for His forgiveness and mercy, acknowledging our human fallibility. This comprehensive dua reflects the holistic approach of seeking goodness in this life and the hereafter for ourselves and our progeny.
