O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all matters, and determination for righteousness. I ask You to make me thankful for Your favors and excellent in Your worship. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I ask You for the good of what You know. I seek Your forgiveness for what You know, for indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.
Allahumma inni as'alukal-thabata fil-amri, wal-'azeemata 'alar-rushdi, wa as'aluka shukra ni'matika, wa husna 'ibadatika, wa as'aluka qalban saleeman, wa lisaanan saadiqan, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma ta'lamu, wa as'aluka min khairi ma ta'lamu, wa astaghfiruka mimma ta'lamu, innaka anta 'allamul-ghuyoob.

How to Read

When making this dua for your parents, visualize them as the intended recipients of Allah's blessings. Raise your hands, face the Qiblah if possible, and recite with sincerity and conviction, knowing that Allah is Al-'Aleem (The All-Knowing) and Al-Ghafoor (The Most Forgiving).
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful supplication asks Allah for several crucial elements: steadfastness (Thabat) which is the foundation of faith, determination for guidance (Azeemah 'alar-rushd), gratitude (Shukr), excellent worship (Husn 'Ibadah), a pure heart (Qalb Saleem), and a truthful tongue (Lisaan Saadiq). It also seeks refuge from all evils and asks for all that is good. By making this for our parents, we are asking Allah to shield them from temptations, keep their hearts pure, and guide their actions towards righteousness, thereby safeguarding their well-being in this life and the next.
