A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq

When to Read

This powerful supplication can be recited at any time, especially when you feel your parents might be exposed to or affected by the evil eye or envy. It's also beneficial to make it a regular part of your routine, perhaps in the morning and evening, to seek ongoing protection for them.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and complete reliance on Allah. You can blow gently onto your parents (if they are present and receptive) after reciting it, or simply make the dua with your hands raised or placed over your heart. Focus on the meaning and the immense power of Allah's words.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a comprehensive shield against all forms of evil created by Allah, including the harm caused by the evil eye and envy. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this to Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) when he asked for a supplication that would protect him from all harm. By reciting it for your parents, you are invoking Allah's perfect protection, safeguarding them from unseen dangers and malicious intentions.
