When to Read

This profound dua from Surah Nuh can be recited at any time, but it's particularly poignant to make it after salaah, during sujud (prostration), or at dawn. It's a comprehensive prayer that encapsulates our hopes for ourselves, our parents, and the wider believing community.

How to Read

Recite this ayah with sincerity and a humble heart. Visualize your parents, whether they are alive or have passed away, and the immense love and gratitude you hold for them. Make this dua with the firm belief that Allah (SWT) hears and responds to the prayers of His servants.

Virtues & Benefits

This ayah is incredibly powerful because it encompasses forgiveness for oneself, parents, and all believers. For our parents, it's a way to continue honoring them even after their passing, seeking Allah's mercy and forgiveness for them, which in turn benefits us as well. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ said: 'When a person dies, all their deeds end except for three: a continuous charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.' (Sahih Muslim 1631). This dua is a beautiful example of a righteous child's prayer for their parents, ensuring a continuous connection of benefit.
