O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all affairs, and determination in righteousness. I ask You for the things that procure Your mercy and the things that lead to Your forgiveness. I ask You for the gratitude for Your favours and the best way to worship You. I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I ask You for the good of what You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen.

Allahumma inni as'alukath-thabata fil-amri, wal-'azeemata 'alar-rushdi, wa as'aluka moojibaati rahmatik, wa hazaa'ima maghfiratik, wa as'aluka shukra ni'matik, wa husna 'ibaadatik, wa as'aluka qalban saleeman, wa lisaanan saadiqan, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma ta'lam, wa as'aluka min khairi ma ta'lam, wa astaghfiruka mimma ta'lam, innaka anta 'allaamul-ghuyoob.

When to Read

Recite this powerful dua regularly, especially in times of ease and difficulty, and specifically when you feel the need to strengthen your marriage against external distractions. Make it a habit to say it individually and perhaps together with your spouse, seeking Allah's protection for your bond.

How to Read

This dua is a comprehensive supplication taught by our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It should be recited with sincerity and a humble heart, preferably after the obligatory prayers (Salah) or during the times when duas are more readily accepted, such as the last third of the night or between the Adhan and Iqamah. Raise your hands as you normally would when making dua.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encapsulates seeking Allah's help for stability in life's matters, the resolve to stay on the right path, and the means to attain His mercy and forgiveness. It also asks for the ability to be grateful for blessings and to worship Him properly, which are all crucial elements for a healthy, fulfilling marriage. By asking for a sound heart and truthful tongue, we seek protection from internal discord and deception, which can be exacerbated by the curated realities often presented on social media. It's a plea for divine insight to avoid the hidden evils and embrace the evident good, ensuring our actions and intentions are pleasing to Allah, thus safeguarding our marital relationship.
