The mother of the believers, 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), reported that whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) stood for prayer at night, he would begin with: 'O Allah, Lord of Jibra'il, Mika'il, and Israfil, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and that which is apparent, You judge between Your servants in that wherein they differed. Guide me to that wherein we differed concerning the truth by Your permission. You guide whomsoever You will to the straight path.' Another narration from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) states that the Prophet ﷺ used to say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, a heart that is not humbled, a soul that is not satisfied, and a du'a that is not answered.' (Sahih Muslim 740) Another du'a, often recited by the Prophet ﷺ in the morning, is: 'O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.' (Sunan Ibn Majah 3841, Sahih) While the specific du'a about Jibra'il, Mika'il, and Israfil is for Tahajjud, the du'a for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds is a powerful supplication for any time, especially blessed times like Eid.
