The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'When you wake up in the morning, say: Al-hamdulillahilladhi ahyana ba'da ma amata-na wa ilayhin-nushur (All praise is for Allah, Who brought us back to life after causing us to die, and to Him is the Resurrection). And when you go to sleep, say: Al-hamdulillah 'ala kulli hal (All praise is for Allah in all circumstances).' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6312).
