The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'When any of you says, 'Al-hamdulillah alladhi bi ni'matihi tatimmus-salihāt' (All praise is due to Allah, by Whose grace good deeds are completed), then his Lord says: 'My servant has spoken the truth.' And when any of you says, 'Al-hamdulillah 'ala ni'matin wa 'ala wuqayatin' (All praise is due to Allah for His blessing and for protection from evil), then his Lord says: 'My servant has praised Me and has sought protection.' And when any of you says, 'Al-hamdulillahilladhi 'afani mimma ibtalaka bihi wa fad dalani 'ala kathirin mimma khalaqa 'afwan' (All praise is due to Allah Who granted me safety from what He tested you with and Who preferred me over many of His creation whom He created with His favour), then his Lord says: 'His safety is a protection for him.'
