O Allah, guide me with the Quran, and make it an imam (leader) for me, and a light, and a guidance, and a mercy. O Allah, remind me of it what I have forgotten, and teach me of it what I am ignorant of, and grant me its recitation during the hours of the night and the ends of the day, and make it an argument for me, O Lord of the worlds.
Allahumma ihdini bil-Qur'an, waj'alhu li imaman, wa nuran, wa huda, wa rahmah. Allahumma dhakkirni minhu ma nasitu, wa 'allimni minhu ma jahiltu, warzuqni tilawatahu ana'al-layli wa atrafan-nahar, waj'alhu li hujjatan ya Rabbal-'alamin.

It's particularly poignant when you've been struggling to connect with the Quran or feel you've neglected it.

Make a firm intention to actively engage with the Quran through reading, understanding, and implementing its teachings.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates the profound benefits of the Quran in a believer's life. It's a request for divine guidance, illumination in darkness, and the mercy of Allah. By asking to be reminded of forgotten verses and taught what is unknown, we acknowledge the Quran as a living source of knowledge and wisdom that requires continuous engagement. The aspiration to recite it day and night signifies a deep desire to make it an integral part of one's existence, leading to it becoming a powerful 'hujjah' (argument or proof) for us in this world and the next. The Quran itself is described as a source of healing and mercy (Surah Al-Isra 17:82), and seeking Allah's help to benefit from it maximizes these blessings.
