اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan
When to Read
This dua is perfect to recite after Fajr prayer, as it was the Prophet's ﷺ practice. It's also a powerful supplication to make whenever you begin seeking knowledge, start a lesson, or simply feel a surge of gratitude for what Allah has bestowed upon you. Think of it as a personal request to Allah to make the knowledge you gain truly beneficial and a means to draw closer to Him.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a humble heart. Visualize the knowledge you are seeking and its potential to benefit yourself and others. Understand that 'beneficial knowledge' refers to knowledge that brings you closer to Allah, improves your character, and guides your actions. Ensure your intention is pure – seeking knowledge for the sake of Allah, not for worldly gain or show.
Virtues & Benefits
This comprehensive dua asks for three vital things for a Muslim. Beneficial knowledge allows us to worship Allah correctly and navigate life according to His guidance. Goodly provision sustains us without becoming a source of heedlessness. Accepted deeds are those performed sincerely for Allah and in accordance with His commands, which are the only ones that truly count in the Hereafter. By asking for these, you are essentially praying for a life that is pleasing to Allah, both in your inner state and outer actions.
