Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If anyone says in the morning, 'Glory be to Allah and by His praise, I am created anew in the morning, and this is the day that the sun has risen upon,' 'I bear witness that Allah has favored me and what I have done today, and that the whole of what I have done is by Allah's Grace.' Then Allah appoints seventy thousand angels to ask forgiveness for him until the evening. If he says it in the evening, Allah appoints seventy thousand angels to ask forgiveness for him until the morning. And Allah will say to His creation, 'I have made it incumbent upon myself to forgive him who says this, and I have forgiven him.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'It is obligatory to say this in the morning and in the evening.' He then said: 'O Allah! Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the great Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, He Who splits the grain and the date-stone, He Who revealed the Torah and the Gospel and the Furqan (Quran), I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of every evil-doer. Thou dost seize (sinners) by the forelock. Thy judgment is executed in me. Thy decree is established. I ask Thee by every name that Thou hast called Thyself by, or that Thou hast revealed in Thy Book, or that Thou hast taught to any of Thy creation, or that Thou hast kept unto Thyself in the knowledge of the unseen, I ask Thee to make the Qur'an the delight of my heart, and the light of my breast, and the remover of my sadness and anxiety.' Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'It is obligatory for everyone who has learned these words to say them in the morning and in the evening.' And Abu Huraira said: 'It is obligatory for you to say them in the morning and in the evening.' And the Prophet (ﷺ) also used to say: 'Glory be to Allah, and all praise is due to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is Great. There is no power and no might but with Allah.' And he would say: 'O Allah! Forgive me, and have mercy on me, and guide me to what is right, and provide for me.' And he used to say: 'O Allah! Forgive me, and guide me, and provide for me.' And he used to say: 'O Allah! I ask Thee for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.'
