Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘If anyone sits in a gathering and his speech is excessive and then regrets it, he should say before getting up: Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayka (Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance). And it will be an expiation for him for what he said in the gathering.’
