โœฆ

My Lord, expand my chest for me, and make my affair easy for me, and loosen the knot from my tongue so they may understand my speech.

Rabbishrah li sadri wa yassir li amri wahlul 'uqdatan min lisani yafqahu qawli

When to Read

This powerful supplication, famously made by Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) when he was commanded to confront Pharaoh, is incredibly relevant before an exam. Recite it before you enter the examination hall, or even as you begin to read the questions. It's about seeking Allah's help to open your mind and clarify your understanding, which directly applies to grasping what the examiner is looking for.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere focus and conviction. Imagine Allah (SWT) opening up your understanding and making complex matters clear to you. Raise your hands in supplication as you recite it, or place your hand on your chest and focus your heart on the meaning. The key is a humble and earnest request to the One who controls all understanding.

Virtues & Benefits

This ayah is a profound plea for clarity, ease, and articulate expression. By reciting it before an exam, you are essentially asking Allah (SWT) to: 1. **Open your mind:** Just as Musa (AS) asked for his chest to be expanded, you're asking for your mind to be receptive and open to understanding the nuances of the questions. 2. **Ease your task:** You're asking for the exam, often a source of stress, to become manageable and straightforward. 3. **Grant clear understanding:** The 'loosening of the tongue' can be interpreted as a metaphor for clear comprehension โ€“ enabling you to 'speak' the correct answers by understanding the implicit intent behind the questions. It helps you cut through ambiguity and grasp the examiner's expectations.
