How to Read
Recite this powerful statement of reliance after concluding your exams, whether you're walking out of the exam hall, sitting in your car, or at home. Say it with a sincere heart, truly meaning each word. It's a declaration of your faith and a conscious act of delegating the responsibility of the results to Allah.
Virtues & Benefits
This short but profound dua encapsulates the essence of *tawakkul* (reliance on Allah). It reminds us that no matter how hard we strive, our efforts are only fruitful with Allah's help. By reciting this, you actively train your heart to let go of anxiety about what you cannot control and place your hope in the Best of Planners. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to be said when leaving one's home, signifying reliance on Allah for every step and undertaking, including the outcome of your hard work.
Source & Authentication
Narrated by Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'When a person leaves his house saying: Bismillahi tawakkaltu 'alallahi, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah. (In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. There is no might nor power except with Allah), it is said to him: "You are guided, defended, and protected." And the devil is distanced from him.' Sunan Abi Dawud 5095. While the primary context is leaving the home, the principle of relying on Allah applies universally to all situations where we hand over control, such as awaiting exam results.
