โœฆ

My Lord, expand for me my breast, and make my task easy, and loosen the knot from my tongue, so they may understand my speech.

Rabbishrah li sadri, wa yassir li amri, wah-lul 'uqdatan mil lisaani, yafqahu qawli

When to Read

Recite this dua before and during your exams, especially when you encounter a question that seems challenging or confusing. It's also beneficial to make this dua when you feel overwhelmed or uncertain about your ability to recall information. Imagine yourself sitting in the exam hall, the question paper in front of you, and a sense of doubt creeping in. This is the perfect moment to turn to this prayer.

How to Read

Begin with sincere intention and tawakkul (reliance) on Allah. Face the Qiblah if possible, or at least turn your heart towards it. Raise your hands slightly, as Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ used to do when making dua. Recite the verses with focus, understanding their meaning and truly asking Allah to open up your understanding and ease your affairs. Take deep breaths and believe that Allah will answer your supplication. You can repeat it as many times as you feel necessary during the exam.

Virtues & Benefits

This powerful supplication was made by Musa (peace be upon him) when he was commanded by Allah to confront the Pharaoh. By reciting it, you are essentially asking Allah to grant you the same clarity of mind, ease of expression, and understanding that Musa was given. It helps in: 1. **Opening the Chest (Shrinking Sadri):** This refers to expanding one's capacity to handle difficulty, stress, and overwhelming situations with calmness and confidence. 2. **Making the Task Easy (Yassir Li Amri):** Asking Allah to simplify the complex, making the difficult exam questions appear manageable and achievable. 3. **Loosening the Knot of the Tongue (Wah-lul 'Uqdatan mil Lisaani):** This specifically aids in clear thinking and effective communication. For exams, it translates to recalling information accurately and articulating your answers coherently, without mental blocks or confusion. 4. **Ensuring Understanding (Yafqahu Qawli):** This part of the dua helps ensure that your thoughts are clear and your expressions are understood, which is crucial for answering exam questions effectively.
