Sahih HadithSahih Ibn Hibban 976

اللَّهُمَّ لَا سَهْلَ إِلَّا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلًا، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلًا.

O Allah, there is no ease except what You make easy. If You will, You can make difficulty easy.

Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahla, wa anta taj'alul-hazna idha shi'ta sahla.

When to Read

Recite this dua before starting your exam, or even just before entering the examination hall. It's also beneficial to recite it during moments of anxiety or difficulty leading up to the exam, or even while facing a particularly challenging question.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere intention and conviction. Raise your hands if possible, as is customary when making dua. Focus on the meaning and trust in Allah's ability to make things easy for you. Take a deep breath, picture the ease you are seeking, and submit your plea to the Almighty.

Virtues & Benefits

This powerful dua, narrated by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, directly asks Allah to alleviate difficulty. When facing an exam, which can often be a source of anxiety and challenge, this supplication helps in several ways: 1. **Seeking Divine Ease:** It acknowledges that ultimate ease comes only from Allah. This reliance can calm nerves and reduce stress. 2. **Transforming Difficulty:** The second part of the dua is a direct plea for Allah to transform any difficulty (hazn) into ease (sahl). This applies not only to the exam material but also to the examination process itself, including the demeanor of the examiner. 3. **Trust and Tawakkul:** Reciting this dua fosters a sense of trust (tawakkul) in Allah, reminding us that while we must prepare diligently, the final outcome rests with Him.
