اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ.

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful [provisions] instead of Your unlawful ones, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need to ask anyone besides You.

Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincere conviction, raising your hands slightly if possible. Visualize Allah (SWT) answering your plea and granting you ease and success. Remember that this dua is not just for material needs but also for spiritual sufficiency and protection from unlawful means, which is crucial when facing a challenge like an exam.

Virtues & Benefits

This powerful dua encapsulates reliance on Allah for sustenance and protection from all that is displeasing to Him. By asking Allah to suffice us with the lawful and enrich us with His bounty, we are essentially seeking His help to perform well through legitimate means, avoiding any shortcuts or dishonest practices. This fosters a sense of peace and trust in Allah's plan, which can significantly reduce exam anxiety and improve focus. The Hadith states that this dua is recommended even if one has wealth equal to the mountains, highlighting its profound spiritual benefit of contentment and trust in Allah's provision.

Source & Authentication

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'O people, be mindful of Allah and seek from Allah what is in His hands. By the Hand of Allah, are faith and provision; and they do not draw near to Allah except by His obedience. And the most beloved of deeds to Allah is the most beloved of the people to Him, and the most beloved of actions to Allah is the most pleasing of them to Him. And the most pleasing of provision to Allah is that which is lawful. And indeed, provision is of two types: a servant's provision that he receives, and a provision that Allah knows he needs. So, whoever is satisfied with what Allah has decreed for him, Allah will suffice him. And whoever is not satisfied with what Allah has decreed for him, Allah will not suffice him, and his provision will be less than what he was destined for. And indeed, the provisions of Allah are not attained except by His obedience.' Then he said: 'Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.' (O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful [provisions] instead of Your unlawful ones, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need to ask anyone besides You.)
