O Allah, I ask You by the right of those who ask You, and by the fulfillment of my needs through You, that You do not afflict me with harm or misfortune, and do not prevent me from my desires, and do not make my affair difficult, and do not disappoint me in my requests. Indeed, You are Most Capable of all things. O Allah, grant me a guide from You to Your Paradise. O Allah, make my soul obedient to You, and take me in death while You are pleased with me. O Allah, I ask You by the pen and what has flowed by it, and by iron and what has been prepared for it, and by the names by which You changed the names, that You forgive me all my sins. O Allah, I ask You by the names by which Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asked You, and I ask You by them to suffice me from the evil of what You have created. O Allah, make for me a light in my heart, and a light in my hearing, and a light in my sight, and a light behind me, and a light in front of me, and a light on my right, and a light on my left, and a light beneath me, and a light above me. O Allah, increase me in faith, certainty, and reliance upon You. O Allah, I ask You by all that You know of Your Most Beautiful Names, that You forgive me and have mercy upon me.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas'ud: I was praying and the Prophet ﷺ was watching me, and the companions were praying with us. When I sat down (for Tashahhud), I praised Allah and sent blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Then I supplicated for myself. When I finished, the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Ask, and you shall be given. Ask, and you shall be given. Ask, and you shall be given.' Then he said: 'This man has asked Allah with His Most Beautiful Names, and with the right of the one through whom supplication is made. So whoever asks Allah with His Most Beautiful Names, and with the right of the one through whom supplication is made, Allah will give him.' Then he said: 'O Abdullah, do you know what the right of the one through whom supplication is made is?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'It is my right and the right of every Muslim who asks for his need.' Imam Ahmad added: 'If one asks Allah through me, and through Himself, he will be given.'
