اَللّٰهُمَّ أَعِنِّيْ عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ، وَشُكْرِكَ، وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
O Allah, assist me in remembering You, in giving thanks to You, and in worshipping You in the best manner.
Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrik, wa shukrik, wa husni 'ibadatik
When to Read
This is a powerful supplication the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to recite regularly, particularly after prayers. It's a comprehensive request for divine help in maintaining a strong connection with Allah through remembrance, gratitude, and excellent worship. You can make this part of your post-prayer routine, or even recite it during sujood (prostration) within your prayer, as it's a plea for help in performing worship itself.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a focused heart. Understand the meaning of each part: 'remembering You' (dhikr) refers to being mindful of Allah's presence and commands; 'giving thanks to You' (shukr) means acknowledging His blessings and expressing gratitude; and 'worshipping You in the best manner' (husni 'ibadah) encompasses performing our prayers and all acts of obedience with focus, humility, and perfection. Imagine yourself asking a loving parent for help to be the best child you can be – that's the essence of this dua.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates the core of a believer's life: establishing a relationship with Allah. By asking for help in remembrance, we ensure we don't become heedless. By asking for help in gratitude, we remember that all good comes from Him. By asking for help in worship, we strive to perform our prayers and other acts of devotion with the quality that pleases Allah, fulfilling their true purpose. The Prophet ﷺ himself made this a regular habit, showing its immense importance.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ passed by Abu Bakr as he was sitting in the mosque, and he said, 'What is keeping you sitting here?' He said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I am sitting here because of something I have heard from you.' He said, 'Perhaps you have remembered the right of the prayer?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Whenever any one of you prays, let him say: O Allah, assist me in remembering You, and in giving thanks to You, and in worshipping You in the best manner.'
