It was narrated from Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, tell me what to say.' He said: 'Say: Allahumma-ghfir li, war-hamni, wahdini, wa 'afini, warzuqni (O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being, and provide for me).' He advised him to say this five times. And it was narrated from Tariq bin Ashyam that he said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'O Messenger of Allah, teach me what to say.' He said: 'Say: Allahumma-ghfir li, war-hamni, wahdini, wa 'afini, warzuqni (O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being, and provide for me).' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, how should I supplicate?' He said: 'In supplication, you will be granted what you are given in accordance with what you seek from Allah, the Mighty and Sublime.'
