Narrated Tawus: I said to Ibn 'Abbas: 'Tell me something genuine that you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He said: 'Yes. I heard him say: 'Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to me and said: 'O Muhammad, your Lord sends you greetings and says: 'This worldly life is a prison for the believer and paradise for the unbeliever. When one of you takes an oath, do not say: 'By the Ka'bah', but say: 'By the Lord of the Ka'bah'.' Then he said: 'O Muhammad, do you know what the people of Paradise do?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'They drink beverages in groups, and they do not dispute nor feel envy.' Then he said: 'O Muhammad, do you know what the people of Hell do?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'When they are thrown into it, they hear its roaring and its rage. When the skin is roasted, they will be given other skin so that they may taste the punishment. They will cry: 'O Malik, let your Lord finish us off.' But their Lord does not answer them. Then they will call upon Gabriel, and then they will call upon Allah Himself, and then they will call upon each other, but they will find no support. Do you know what has caused them to be in hell? And he mentioned burning.' Then he said: 'O Muhammad, do you know what the believer says when he is hungry and thirsty in this world?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'He says: 'O Allah, sufficient for us is Allah, He is the best Disposer of affairs.' So Allah says: 'What happened to My servant?' And Gabriel says: 'He said: 'O Allah, sufficient for us is Allah, He is the best Disposer of affairs.' So Allah says: 'What happened to My servant?' And Gabriel says: 'He said: 'O Allah, sufficient for us is Allah, He is the best Disposer of affairs.' So Allah says: 'What happened to My servant?' And Gabriel says: 'He said: 'O Allah, sufficient for us is Allah, He is the best Disposer of affairs.' Then Allah says: 'O My servant, is there anything that you wish for?' And he says: 'O Allah, whatever You have decreed for me, let it be good.' And then Allah says: 'O My servant, if you are pleased with what I have decreed for you, then I am pleased with you.'
