O Allah, forgive me all my sins, the minor and the major, the first and the last, the apparent and the hidden. O Allah, forgive the sins of the first of this Ummah and its last. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of this Ummah, and from the evil of what my parents have preceded, and from the evil of what has preceded in me, and from the evil of Iblis and his offspring, and from the evil of the people of innovation and deviation, and from the evil of this world and the hereafter.
Allahumma-ghfir li dhanbi kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, awwalahu wa akhirahu, 'alaniyatahu wa sirrahu, awwala hadhihil-ummah wa akhiraha. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri hadhihil-ummah, wa min sharri ma sabaqa fihi abawayya, wa min sharri ma sabaqa fiyya, wa min sharri Iblisa wa dhurriyyatihi, wa min sharri ahlil-bud'i waz-zayghi, wa min sharri ad-dunya wal-akhirah.

This powerful supplication, though general, is exceptionally beneficial after an outburst. It embodies seeking broad forgiveness, covering all aspects of one's sins. By invoking Allah's protection from various evils, including the whispers of Iblis and the deviations of people, it helps cleanse the heart and mind, fostering humility and a renewed commitment to better conduct. Narrated Abu Bakr As-Siddiq: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'There is no person who commits a sin and then purifies himself and prays, and then asks for forgiveness, but Allah will forgive him.' Then he recited this verse: 'And those who, when they have committed immorality or wronged themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins – and who can forgive sins except Allah? – And [they] do not persist in what they have done while they know.' (Quran 3:135). Then Abu Bakr said: 'I did not hear this hadith before, and I felt that this wording was specific to me, so I said: O Messenger of Allah, what about the one who has committed a sin but did not do what you mentioned? He said: He will bear it. Then he said: 'Allahumma-ghfir li dhanbi kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, awwalahu wa akhirahu, 'alaniyatahu wa sirrahu, awwala hadhihil-ummah wa akhiraha. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min sharri hadhihil-ummah, wa min sharri ma sabaqa fihi abawayya, wa min sharri ma sabaqa fiyya, wa min sharri Iblisa wa dhurriyyatihi, wa min sharri ahlil-bud'i waz-zayghi, wa min sharri ad-dunya wal-akhirah.' — Sunan Abi Dawud 5085
