Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

When to Read

Recite this dua when you feel your patience wearing thin during an outburst, or in the moments leading up to a potentially difficult interaction. It's a prayer for equipping yourself with the inner strength and clarity needed to respond with grace, even when faced with challenging emotions.

How to Read

Recite with sincerity and focus, picturing Allah granting you the strength to handle the situation with composure. It's best recited after the Fard (obligatory) prayers, though it can also be recited at any time you feel the need for divine support. Ensure you are in a state of Wudu (ablution) if possible, though the sincerity of the heart is paramount.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, asks for three essential things for navigating life's trials. Beneficial knowledge helps us understand situations and respond wisely. Good provision ensures our basic needs are met, reducing external stress. Most importantly, acceptable deeds are those done for the sake of Allah and in accordance with His commands, which brings immense peace and satisfaction, even when enduring hardship. By asking for these, we prepare ourselves to deal with difficult people and situations with patience and faith, knowing that Allah is with those who are patient.
