O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your judgment upon me is assured, and Your decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name belonging to You with which You have named Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept hidden in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my sadness and the reliever of my distress.
Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatika. Nasiyati biyadika. Madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka. As'aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw anzaltahu fi kitabika, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaybi 'indaka, an taj'alal-Qur'ana rabee'a qalbi, wa noora sadri, wa jalaa'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.

It was narrated from Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "No slave is afflicted with any distress or grief, then says: (the dua above)... except that Allah will remove his distress and grief, and will replace it with joy." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, should we not learn them?" He said: "Yes, whoever hears them should learn them." — Musnad Ahmad 3712, graded Sahih by Al-Albani in As-Silsilah As-Sahihah no. 199
